Be Inspired

Today I got the chance to see the new Westfield on Pitt Street in the city. First impression?

"This is some fancy shamancy shit..."

As soon as you walk in, or at least as soon as I walked in, I felt unclean and I guess a better word for it would be, unworthy. Unworthy to stand, let alone look at clothes, jewellery, watches, bags and all that other mumbo jumbo. One shirt at one of those stores was probably worth all my clothes COMBINED in my wardrobe. There were my usual kind of stores like Tree of Life and Supre (not really) but from where I was standing and observing, everything was, for the better word, expensive!

But there was this one store, a stationary store called kikki.K. More sophisticated than Typo, and more multipurpose. I LOVED all the stationary there. For some reason I have some weird like for fruit on stationary, so as soon as I saw the apple shaped stamp, the strawberry post-it notes, notebooks decorated in fruit decor, pencil cases, pens and bags covered with fruit, I felt like a kid in a candy store. The short combinations of bursts of laughter and high pitched squealing was quite embarrassing but enjoyable. Have not done that in a while. All in all, had a lovely day exploring the city, shopping around and taking photos =)

Mardi Gras 2010

Although I didn't exactly get to see the parade going on, just the sheer excitement and joy coming from all those happy faces on the streets of the city really made me happy. What I didn't like about Mardi Gras though, was how some people can be really rude and diss the event, saying gays are no good to society. Guess what peeps? YOUR FACE ISN'T GOOD FOR SOCIETY!

I was watching the streets in the city, everywhere you looked, rainbow colourd flags, pink clothing, glitter, people giving blow jobs in playgrounds, hookers on the streets, the hundreds of cleaners quickly trying to clean up the rubbish of the confetti from the floats and alcohol. True spirit of mardi gras.

P.S: I start uni 2morrow, boo hoo =(

Amyyypoooo's Birthday

Friday night was FABULOUS! I love going out with my Red Rooster buddies. We always seem to end up at Playtime for some reason =P, either way we had an awesome night.

Nelson's Bay 10'

Five friends, five days, four nights, three hours drive, three pathetic teenage bogans, two successful sunny days, one bathroom and one heck of a good time.

Not to forget, how red I still am after endless hours of tanning on the beach, how red Andrea got, Michal's uneven back tan, near fatal accident on the way home from getting pizza, a failed attempt at making a bonfire on the beach, JENGA!, being "alco-jacked" by three bogans, being threatented by three bogans, half skinny dipping whilst tipsy, ice cream on the wharf, "SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS", two hours of stupid animal combinations with Michal, having to listen to Cesar and Michal constantly reference Simpsons with everything, mo-mo-monopoly, an accident on the beach that will not be mentioned EVER again, creepy poltergeist from house downstairs, "bitch bitch bitch, whinge whinge whinge" and one bubbly bath with two guys ;).

Another birthday

I love celebrating birthdays. There's just something joyous about birthdays that I love. Even if it isn't mine, I'm the type of person who loves to give. Then again I don't know how to save my money =P. But, I love giving presents to someone on their special day.

Yesterday, well technically today was my managers birthday. Now I know what your thinking, why would I go out to dinner with my manager to celebrate her birthday? Doesn't she have family or something to celebrate it with? Well, we are family in a way. Yes, it's corny but most of us (Red Rooster employees) realised last night, that we are WAY too close to one another. Someone pointed out it was creepy, but I think it's cute. I'm only really close to a couple of people at work, but stil, I count them as family. And my manager is like the mummy. It's kinda funny.

Anyway, we ended up eating at the workers club (yeah I know right) and heading off to playtime. Highlight of my night, gift opening ;). My other manager, as a joke, gave my manager a vibrator. Yellow to be exact ;). We may be the closest Red Rooster, but I think we're also the dirtiest Red Rooster =P. People talking about how long things are, people constantly moaning, several sexual references every hour, it's disgusting! But either way, it's funny =).

Anyway....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARCELLE =D

Courtney's 18th

So yesterday, a little group of us celebrated Courtney's 18th and in a way Steff's 18th at the Ivy bar in the city. And omg, the moment you walk in, you feel, well i certainly felt out of my element. Mind you, this was only like 9.15pm, but everything felt so sophisticated, upper-class and especially old. Pretty much everyone there was either coming for afterwork drinks or older people who have a job, finished uni and have done something worthy with their lives, not eighteen year old noobs, no offence to everyone else. Music was pretty good, but not dance music, like i said, it was still 9.15pm so no one was dancing yet, just chilling by the massive tree in the middle, sipping their cocktails talking about how (insert name here) cheated on her/his girlfriend/boyfriend with (insert slut/manwhores name here) last night. Oh and we mustn't forget Steff's magical picking up skills. In the space of like two hours she managed to pick up three guys or something, HOW DOES SHE DO IT?

Anyways, drinks there were quite expensive, so we went over to the bar right across the stret, Bar 333. Nice small hangout, good music, nice crowd, $7 tequilla shots and even football playing on the tv in the background. Oh did i mention this was the first time i had ever tried tequilla? Thoughts? It's not bad at all, i found no need in the lemon to be honest, unless i was doing it wrong =S.

So back to Ivy we went and i feet were KILLING me, dancing in high heels is a pain. How do women do it everyday? So by this time it was like midnight i think and the music was actually better. Plus the DJ was pretty cute. So yeah i was doing as i usually do on the dance floor, perving on guys and dancing, trying to look nonchalant. Thankfully i did find one, from across the room =P. Which was kinda spoiled by some dude who tried to make a move on me, i know what your thinking, why is she complaining? Trust me, this dude was already drunk and thought he could hit on any girl in the club, because they would give him the benefit of the doubt. I'll provide our conversation (yes i can fit it into 8 lines)

Hi, how are you? Is this your first time here?
Yeah, i don't go clubbing out much.
I'm Victor. What's your name?
Natasha. Nice to meet you.
Where are you from?
I'm from Blacktown, or around it.
Ahh, i used to live in Western Suburbs, in Fairfield, but now i live in Central Coast.
(dancing for like 15 seconds)
DANIELLA PERRI! OMG!
(i walk away to hug Daniella, everyone laughs)

The guy was like leaning into forward and touching me and trying to kiss my cheek but his drunken-ness was kinda preventing that from happening properly. I don't know what others call it, but i call it seedy. Anyway, that just teaches me a lesson in i must be careful of what i wish for =P.

After that we pretty much met up with everyone else at Pancakes and took the Nightrider home. Ahhh the nightrider, so much fun especially when you have a funny drunk sitting in front of you. There was one girl two rows in front of me who was singing "All the Single Ladies" and was on about Pokemon and Fannies? Don't ask .. we meet weird people on the Nightrider.

Overall, a great night with the friends =D. Probably wont go out for a while =P
