Never too late

HELLO =)

It has been a while since I last decided to post anything on my blog, purely because things kept getting in the way. Or purely in my case, because I was lazy. But some recent stuff has happened that I need to highlight.

Apart from the ever so short four month holiday, I have started uni =(, *boo hoo* I know. It hasn't even been two weeks yet and I'm already complaining about everything, from travelling to textbooks to lecturers. Don't know if its just me, but I've said this so many times, it's seems as though its been implanted in peoples minds that I really just want to quit. The fact this is my last year does prompt me to finish this year off and work for as long as I want, but its the overall feeling of continuous study that I am dreading. I simply do not enjoy it anymore, as with everything else, the people, my friends are the ones that I'm enduring one more year of turmoil for because I simply cannot handle the stress and workload of university life sometimes. I really don't understand how people can withstand being in university, actually, how people can stand studying for so many years in a row! Half of our lives are spent studying and I'm not saying I don't appreciate the education that is given to me, I'm very fortunate for that indeed. I think at this moment in time, I've come to the realisation that I'm growing up and will be getting a proper full-time job, moving out, starting a family and all that adult stuff. It's scary. I am looking forward to it, but right now, I'd rather spend my time with my friends (those who remain my true friends), travel the world, make some spontaneous purchases, find someone or multiple people to call my own and all that other stuff. It's wayyyy too early for me to settle down.

Other than uni, I guess it's just been work, hanging out, spending money here and there, work, and all of the above.

Day 21

"one of your favourite t.v shows"

I have quite a few favourite shows, but I guess my all time favourite t.v show is FRIENDS. I didn't really like it when it was actually airing on television on channel nine, but that was purely because half the jokes I did not understand (my age and level of maturity at the time was to blame). But now, everything makes sense. Chandler's sarcasm, the sexual innuendos, the guest appearances of "certain" people and all of the above. But mostly what I love about the show is that no matter how many times you watch certain episodes, the hilarity of it will never cease. Despite the recurring plots of Rachel getting back with Ross, Rachel breaking up with Ross, Janice popping up everywhere and whatever it always remains funny.

"No one mourns the wicked"

Yesterday, I had the most memorable, spectacular, amazing, no words could describe it day in a while. Yesterday, I got to experience several events, all in one place, all in one day.

Guess it all started about the time when I woke up from pure excitement, because it was the day I would finally get to see WICKED @ the Capitol Theatre, with my dearest friend Josie. Show didn't start till around 3pm so we decided to "bum" around for a bit, check out the city, explore a little.

So like the asians we are, we went to Haymarket for a little lunch and what not. It was a typical Sunday, asians everywhere, sipping on their soups, slurping their noodles, gulping down their bubble teas, taking pictures, shopping, shopping, shopping, taking more photos, the usual. Little did Josie and I know, the Moon Festival was on, and mooncakes were everywhere! Now a mooncake, is like a paste-filled biscuit. They're sold in most asian stores, but their biggest significance is on the Moon Festival, which celebrates the moon, in short. There were asians everywhere buying mooncakes and celebrating. It was very magical.

Josie and I decided we'd seen enough mooncakes to last us a lifetime, so we moved down to the Chinese gardens, after getting our Easyway ofcourse ;). I had seen a lot of photos from people, who are sitting in front of the waterfall looking "non-chalant" (doesn't work with me unfortunately =P), so we decided let's check out this waterfall. The view was beautiful, although small, was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was even nicer seeing people walk pass in traditional clothes, taking photos by the lake or the waterfall with theirpalms together. But it was funnier seeing people walk pass in traditional clothes, with runners on. So as asian as we were (mainly Josie), we took photos by the bushes, the waterfall, the koi fish, the bridge, the stones, the waterfall, the bushes, the big tree, the benches, the trees, you know it. Just as we were about to leave, everyone was crowding around this little meetingarea, and there was slow music playing in the background. Next thing I see are three women walking down an aisle with white rose bouquets, black strapless dresses, and a man at the end of the aisle wearing a black tux and white tie, with a white rose in this top pocket. Wedding. How sweet, a nice small wedding. The wife looked beautiful =), she walkeddown with her mother, and the traditional "here comes the bride music was playing". How sweeet.

By that time, it was 2.30pm so we quickly walked back to Capitol Theatre to get ready for the show to start. Small theatre, beautiful architecture, sophisticated atmosphere. The seats we were sitting in had a pretty great view, Dress Circle, row K in the middle. My latest obsession: WICKED! And no, my favourite song was not Defying Gravity, although it was one of my favourites, "The Wizard and I" was my favourite, next to "As Long As You're Mine". The girl who played Elphaba was spectacular! LOVED LOVED LOVED HER!!! The guy who was meant to play Fiyero, Rob Mills, think moved back to Melbourne, so I was kinda scared we'd get some weirdo who can't sing, but we got Tim Campbell, who by surprise was pretty good. Thoroughly enjoyed his performance. Overall, BEST MUSICAL! (sorry Moulin Rouge).

Last week I loved...

More like two weeks ago, but .. Two weeks ago I celebrated my 19th birthday. I was told by one of my good friends, to spend the last few minutes of my 18th year doing something special. I had about 13 minutes to quickly do something spontaneous and outrageous. The best I could think of was dancing with my music on full blast in the kitchen, waiting for that clock to strike midnight. What a way to spend my last few minutes being 18. That was just the start...

Well technically no, the Wednesday before my birthday, specifically the 14th of April, my work mates organized a little get together, cake, movie night. It made my day considering, I had an exam to do during the day. But pretty much I got to Westpoint (yes I am officially a Blacktown bum now) and hung around a bit with one of my ex-workmates, actually two of my ex-workmates and my manager. Around 6 when they all finished work, all my work mates stayed behind to see my blow my cake out. They are seriously the nicest people EVER! I've been there for only 5 months and they did something that nice for me =).

April 16. Yes, I was back in Westpoint bumming with the same workmates, but that wasn't the highlight of my night. SUPAFEST SUPAFEST SUPAFEST!!! FUCKING BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!!

Jay Sean, random boy in a turban dancing with Eve on stage, Pitbull, Akon, confetti, me half passing out during Sean Paul, watching drunk little teenies dancing hardout to Akon, hundreds of people chanting Akon and happy birthday (oh yeah I share the same birthday as Akon, HOW AWESOME!!!), it was officially the best night of my life.

April 17. I went out for dinner with my high school friends in the city at Hurricanes. NICEST RIBS EVER!!! LOL, I tried my first taste of sangria. Not bad, I must say. Then again I'm not a red wine type of person. It was really nice to finally catch up with my high school friends. I've missed them so much, and with all the little dramas that went down, I was happy to see everyone still one big family.

Yesterday I got a book in the mail from my workmates (repeat, those people are some of the most amazing people on the EARTH!). The book had all these little messages from my closest friends at work and pictures of the 5 months that I had spent with them. Mum was watching me read the book over and over again, and she laughed because I was starting to get all teary.

That one week was honestly, the best and most memorable birthday of my life =) .. thank you to everyone that shared the week with me

Nelson's Bay 10'

Five friends, five days, four nights, three hours drive, three pathetic teenage bogans, two successful sunny days, one bathroom and one heck of a good time.

Not to forget, how red I still am after endless hours of tanning on the beach, how red Andrea got, Michal's uneven back tan, near fatal accident on the way home from getting pizza, a failed attempt at making a bonfire on the beach, JENGA!, being "alco-jacked" by three bogans, being threatented by three bogans, half skinny dipping whilst tipsy, ice cream on the wharf, "SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS", two hours of stupid animal combinations with Michal, having to listen to Cesar and Michal constantly reference Simpsons with everything, mo-mo-monopoly, an accident on the beach that will not be mentioned EVER again, creepy poltergeist from house downstairs, "bitch bitch bitch, whinge whinge whinge" and one bubbly bath with two guys ;).

F.R.I.E.N.D.S - top 10

Yes I'm bored again. One of my favourite shows of all lifetime is FRIENDS. At first i never really liked it, but i think now that i'm much older and mature (ahem*) then i was when i first begun watching FRIENDS i completely understand this type of comedy. So i thought i'd share my top 10 favourite episodes of FRIENDS (feel free to agree or disagree or agree to disagree =D)

10) The One With The Screamer: Guest starring my favourite comedian Ben Stiller as Rachel's date to Joey's play. The play itself was so odd, like what was up with the whole alien thing? LOL

9) The One Where Ross And Rachel Take A Break: "WE WERE ON A BREAK!" Nuff said =P. And what do you do when your on a break? Knock up the Xerox girl who your best friends are drooling over. Classy Ross, very classy.

8) The One With Ross's Wedding - Part 2: The beginning of a strange yet sweet relationship of Chanica or Mondler, Chandler and Monica duh! Ain' they nice? They console in one another through sex. YES! That's the way. And ofcourse Ross's mistake by saying "Rachel" instead of Emily at the alter. CLASSIC!

7) The One With All The Thanksgiving: The day when all American's celebrate the cooperation and significance of the English colonist and the Native Americans. Here in FRIENDS, our friends reminisce of their past thanksgiving including when Joey got a turkey stuck on his head, Phoebe lost her arms a past life (twice), Monica was hurt by Chandler and when Chandler lost a toe.

6) The One With The Triplets: It's like the situation in Neighbours, without the drama. Phoebe has volunteered to become surrogant mother to her brother, Frank and Alice's (woman from that's 70's show, KITTY!) children. Welcome to the 100th show Leslie, Chandler and Frank Jr. Jr.

5) The One With The Prom Video: Ahh yes, another episode which shows the reunion of the imfamous, yet adorable couple Ross and Rachel. You just have to love Rachel's nose before her rhinoplasty =P. Don't you just love watching Monica in her pre-fat days?

4) The One With The Football: Classic guys versus gals football game on Thanksgiving day, and a brilliant display by Monica and Ross of sibling rivalry. Classic gal plays, flashing the opposite team ;). You go girls! LOL and the "Gellar Cup", hahahaha, tops to the Gellar family =D.

3) The One With The Holiday Armadillo: Starring a young Cole/Dylan Spourse as Ben, Ross attempts to teach his son about Hanukkah, but to his distress Chandler arrives as Santa Clause. Ngaw, how sad.

2) The One With The Rumor: Oh well done writers! How I love the irony in this episode, and how FINE Brad Pitt looked here. HAWT! Monica invites an old high school friend, Will who hates Rachel for making his life in high school miserable. In Will's anger he admits to starting an "I hate Rachel Green club" with co-founder Ross. OH THE IRONY!

now my number 1 episode is ... *drum roll*

1) The One With Unagi: Unagi; the Japanese word for Freshwater eel, yet in relation to this episode, it is also as Ross says "a state of total awareness". To me, this was my funniest episode ever and my favourite FRIEND episode! DANGER DANGER!!!
